A Higher Degree of Nursing

Today's environment of health care has created a growing need for well-educated nurses. Those involved in the most comprehensive degree programs will continue to bring the nursing profession to a higher level. The Clarkson College BSN program has a higher degree of excellence — providing you with the ethics and knowledge necessary to flourish in the health care of individuals.

As a Clarkson College nursing student, you will be exposed to new and challenging concepts designed to develop your critical thinking skills. Our small classes will ensure that you receive the most personalized education available. You will perfect your nursing skills in our 12-bed nursing skills lab, designed to simulate real health care settings. With a variety of clinical sites throughout Omaha, including our outstanding affiliation with The Nebraska Medical Center, you will experience hands-on coursework and interaction with numerous local health care professionals.

A Higher Degree of Scholarship

Clarkson College is one of the finest nursing programs in the region, and together with Nebraska Health System, has trained generations of experienced, well-qualified nurses to provide exceptional patient care to the people of the Midlands. Both organizations are committed to increasing the opportunities for minority students to succeed in the growing, dynamic field of nursing.

The Gateway to Success Minority Nursing Scholarship has been generously funded by Clarkson Regional Health Services and The Nebraska Medical Center to support five worthy minority students each year. Each scholarship is worth $10,000 per academic year and is awarded for four years, assuming recipients continue to meet the requirements. Each scholarship includes a summer work internship at The Nebraska Medical Center, which provides $5,000 in additional funds.

A Higher Degree of Opportunity

If you want to advance in your nursing career, the Master of Science in Nursing program is for you. This program prepares nurses for challenges and opportunities in today's health care environment. Study is offered on campus or through online education.

Once you have your MSN, you can continue to earn Post-Master's certificates in Nursing. Gain knowledge in four specialty options including Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Nursing Education or Nursing Health Care Leadership. The Post-MSN certificate represents the student's successful completion of the required courses in the chosen nursing option. After successful completion of the ANP or FNP program, you will be able to provide health care in a practice setting and will be eligible to sit for ANP or FNP certification examinations.
