Who is eligible to
become a Tutor?
1) Tutor must be recommended by Clarkson
College faculty or staff.
2) Tutor may be a full-time student,
part-time student, employee of The Nebraska Medical
Center, Clarkson College alumni, or
an outside source if recommended by Clarkson
College faculty.
3) Tutor may not be a Clarkson College
Student Employee.
4) Tutor must have a minimum 3.0 Grade Point
Average in subject they are tutoring.
5) Tutor will be paid $9.00 per hour per
student, with a maximum of 2 students.
6) Tutor may meet with student on or off
Clarkson College campus.
TUTOR SELECTION:
1) Success Center contacts program
director/instructor for tutor recommendation.
2) Potential tutor is contacted.
3) Potential tutor completes Tutor Referral
Form and submits to the Success Center.
4) Success Center reviews and forwards to
Human Resources Dept.
4) Human Resources contacts tutor.
5) Tutor completes employment process through
Human Resources.
6) Upon approval, Human Resources contacts
Success Center with tutor start date.
7) Tutor name and phone number(s) is added to
Tutors sheet under appropriate subject or
program.
8) Tutor is given Tutoring Time Records to
track hours.
TUTOR REQUEST:
1) Student contacts Success Center.
2) Student is given name and phone number of
tutor(s).
3) Student's tutor request information is
noted on Tutor Referrals sheet.
4) Student contacts tutor(s) to schedule
session.
5) Student must be have read material (if
applicable), be prepared with questions, supplies
and all other information pertaining
to scheduled session, prior to the session.
TUTORING SESSION:
1) Tutor completes Tutoring Time Record and
student initials sheet.
2) Tutor forwards Tutoring Time Record to the
Success Center as sheet becomes full.
3) Success Center reviews Tutoring Time
Record, director signs, and is forwarded to
Human Resources to process for
payment.
4) Success Center sends evaluation form to
all tutored students at the end of each
semester.
5) Student completes evaluation and returns
to Success Center for assessment.
