The
Clarkson College Student Financial Services Department keeps a binder of outside
scholarship opportunities. It is available for viewing and is located on the
Department's front counter. The Clarkson College Student Financial Services
Department has been made aware of several outside scholarship opportunities:
Army ROTC Nurse Scholarship
Army ROTC enables students to complete their degrees at Clarkson College while
training to become officers in the United States Army Nursing Corps. Army ROTC
offers two, three and four year scholarships that pay full tuition, a monthly
stipend totaling $4500/yr. and $1200/yr. for books. The NCLEX exam is also
paid. Graduates are guaranteed a full time job starting at $43,000/yr. After four
years, the salary increases to $75,000/yr. Additionally, fully funded graduate
opportunities are available after graduation.

Heartland Foundation Scholarships
Several
scholarships are available from the Heartland Foundation, but applicants must
reside in one of the following counties:

Missouri:
Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess,
DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte,
Ray, or Worth

Iowa:
Decatur, Fremont, Page, Ringgold, or Taylor
·
Kansas:
Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, or Nemaha
·
Nebraska: Nemaha or Richardson

John Gyles Education Awards - up
to $3000
John
Gyles Education Awards are available to students in both Canada and the United
States. Those selected will receive up to $3000. Applicants must be enrolled
full-time at (or accepted to) a college or university program as an undergraduate
or graduate student. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a scale of
4.0 and must also have citizenship in either the United States or Canada. Additional
criteria are listed on the application form.
