Compliance and Complaints Statement

Clarkson College complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws relating to discrimination based on race, color, religion, ancestry, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, national origin, ethnicity, sex, age, veteran's status, or marital status. This includes, but is not limited to, such laws as Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1972, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. This policy is applicable to complaints alleging discrimination on the basis of sex. The Vice President Academic Affairs is responsible for coordinating compliance with these laws for students.

All complaints will be promptly and thoroughly investigated and resolved. Complaint processes can be found in two policies; Petition for Reconsideration and Grievance. The Vice President Academic Affairs will be responsible for conducting review of complaints for students. Complainants may provide statements from witnesses as part of their information and evidence.

The College prohibits retaliation against a complainant or other person(s) who participates in grievance proceedings.

A complete description of each formal grievance process is contained in the Student Handbook, which is available in a PDF format and live on the Clarkson College website.
